Justice Sought for Charles Adair's Family in Federal Civil Rights Lawsuit

Ben Crump Representing Charles Adair’s Family In Civil Lawsuit A devastating incident of police brutality has left a family seeking justice, and now they're taking their fight to the courts. Last summer, Charles Adair died while incarcerated in a Kansas jail after a sheriff's deputy kneeled on his back for over 90 seconds.

Civil Rights Attorney Ben Crump Represents Family in Lawsuit
Ben Crump, a renowned civil rights attorney, is leading the charge to hold accountable those responsible for Charles Adair's tragic death. Alongside him are attorneys Harry Daniels, Gabrielle Higgins, and Sue-Ann Robinson, who are also representing the family in this federal civil rights case against Wyandotte County, Deputy Richard Fatherley, and Wyandotte County Sheriff Daniel Soptic.

The Incident that Sparked Outrage
Charles Adair was a pretrial detainee being held over misdemeanor traffic violations when he died. At the time of his incarceration, he had a severe leg infection that would have required amputation if not treated promptly. Despite this, he was taken to a hospital where his leg was rewrapped, and a medical screening revealed he was schizophrenic.

The Family's Quest for Transparency
The lawsuit has been filed because the public still hasn't been allowed to see the video of what happened to Charles Adair. According to Crump, 'This lawsuit was filed because even after criminal charges were brought, the public still has not been allowed to see the video of what happened to Charles Adair.'

The family's fight for justice is far from over. As they navigate this complex and often frustrating process, one thing remains clear: their pursuit of truth and accountability will continue until those responsible are held accountable.
