You wake up before your alarm again.

It’s always 3:17 a.m.

You don’t know why that time, but your body knows it too well. Like a memory that refuses to fade, it pulls you out of sleep and drops you into silence #news #news #entertainment #Featured #Newsletter #ForYourInformation #AppFeed #AppFeed #donaldtrump #donaldtrump #EntertainmentVideo #BlackLivesMatter thick, heavy silence that feels louder than noise.

At first, you thought it was just stress. School, life, everything piling up. But stress doesn’t whisper your name.

Not the way it does.

It started small. A dream you couldn’t quite remember. Just flashes a door left open, footsteps behind you, something you should have said but didn’t. You’d wake up sweating, heart racing, but by morning, it would blur into nothing.

Until it didn’t.

Now you remember more.

That day.

You try not to think about it, but your mind drags you back anyway. The sky was too bright. The air too still. You replay it differently every time, like your brain is trying to fix something that can’t be fixed.

If you had stayed a little longer… If you had spoken up… If you had turned around.

Maybe things would be different.

Maybe they would still be here.

You sit up in bed, pressing your palms against your eyes. “It wasn’t my fault,” you whisper, like you’ve said a hundred times before.

But the room shifts.

The air grows colder.

And then

A soft knock.

Your breath catches.

It comes again. Three slow taps. The exact same rhythm from your memory.

You freeze. You know that knock.

“No…” you murmur, shaking your head. “That’s not real.”

But deep down, you’re not so sure.

You swing your legs off the bed, every movement heavy, like something is pulling you back. The door to your room is slightly open now.

You’re certain you closed it.

The hallway beyond is dark.

And then you hear it.

Footsteps.

Slow. Careful. Getting closer.

Your chest tightens as the past crashes fully into the present. This isn’t just memory anymore. It’s here. It followed you. It waited.

And now

It’s knocking again.

Right behind you.
